1. Activates nerves – When a needle is placed, it sends tiny signals through the nerves to the brain and spinal cord. This releases natural chemicals like endorphins (your body’s pain relievers) and serotonin (a mood regulator).
2.Boosts circulation to reduce inflammation and speed healing.
3.Regulation of body systems – Acupuncture influences the way the nervous system communicates with other systems like the digestive system, immune system, and hormones. This helps the body find balance.
Acupuncture is generally very comfortable. Most people feel little to nothing when the needles are placed. Some may notice a gentle warmth, a sense of heaviness, or a mild tingling at the point of insertion — all normal signs that the body is responding.
Acupuncture often works best as a series of treatments. While some people notice changes after just 1–2 sessions, most benefit from about 4–6 treatments, and some may need more. Because everyone responds differently, we’ll create a personalized plan together to support your health and goals.
1. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
2. Have a light meal/snack and hydrate before your treatment.
3. If you are taking prescription medication, please bring a list of all your medications (including dosage).
Chinese herbal medicine has been safely used for thousands of years. When prescribed by a licensed acupuncturist, it is tailored to your unique needs. If you’re taking any medications or supplements, let your practitioner know so your formula can be safely customized for you.
